Vertex Dickinson Concrete

About our concrete contractor team in Dickinson

A locally owned concrete contractor, based right here in Dickinson.

Folks in Dickinson deserve concrete that drains right and holds up, so we start with the ground under it and explain each step.

A broad, smooth concrete driveway with control joints curves past dark garage doors beside a mulched garden bed.

Built from the ground up

I care most about the work nobody sees, because the base under a slab and where water runs decide how it holds up.

I spent years as the right hand to another concrete contractor before I started this business in 2017. That's where I learned to set forms, finish flatwork like driveways and patios, and talk a homeowner through a job before the truck ever shows up. I still work that way, because I'd rather take a few extra minutes explaining than have you surprised later.

These days we're best known for driveways, patios and garage floors that drain right and look clean, plus the footings and foundations under new builds. Homeowners call us, and so do builders and small businesses that need a slab or a lot. We're based in Dickinson and work here and in the cities around it, and you'll find the full list of what we pour on our home page.

We talk a job through with you first, then build what's under the slab as carefully as what's on top.

How we run a job

  1. The owner looks and leads

I'm the one who comes out to look at your job, and I'm there running our own crew when we build it, so the plan we make together is the one we pour.

  2. Licensed, insured, permits checked

North Dakota requires a state contractor license on jobs over $4,000, and we're licensed and insured. We also check permits with the City of Dickinson before each job starts.

  3. Small jobs welcome too

We take on a set of steps or a few cuts for a new drain with the same care we'd give a big slab, so a small job is worth a call.

Base first, finish second

We dig out and pack the subgrade, the ground your slab sits on, and check where the water will run before we set a form. If a budget gets tight, the base is the last thing I'd cut, because a good-looking finish won't save a slab that settles with the dirt under it.

Your estimate, line by line

Your estimate spells out what's included, so you can lay it next to anyone else's and compare it line for line. I'll also tell you up front that concrete can crack a little and that a new slab needs gentle care its first winter. Questions are welcome, and our contact page is the easiest place to start.
